Gaining from Migration: A Comparative Analysis and Perspective on how Sending and Receiving Countries can Gain more from Migration

This project, which was commissioned by the European Commission and coordinated by the OECD, aimed at providing a critical review and evaluation of the literature and evidence regarding the short-term and long-term costs and benefits of migration to and within Europe (with a particular focus on demographic, employment, competitiveness, growth and fiscal aspects).

The research results have been published in two studies:
