Dörte Nitt-Drießelmann joined the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) in May 2006. Currently, she is working for the project "Hamburgs Staatsfinanzen – Entwicklung und Zukunft". The project aims to alert young people for budgetary and fiscal questions and thereby raise their awareness for the importance of national-political aspects of public finances.
Dörte Nitt-Drießelmann earned her master's degree in economics (Diplom-Volkswirtin) from the University of Hamburg. Afterwards, she worked in banking for several years. In the beginning, her focal point was on carrying out market research. Following she put her focus on marketing strategies. As a division manager of a famous private bank she has been responsible for the operative and strategic marketing, for promotion, as well as for merchandising and public relations.
