German Technical Recession Seen As Inevitable

"From a technical point of view we are certainly sliding into a recession, two subsequent quarters of negative growth, so it's inevitable. But I don't assess the German economy as doing so badly, because the utilisation of capacity is still very high, we have almost full employment," said Prof. Dr. Henning Voepel, director of the HWWI. "We are not becoming the sick man of Europe again."
