This year’s New Year’s reception of the HWWI of the Bremen branch took place on 21 January 2025 on the premises of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce – Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Bremen and Bremerhaven.

The very nice welcome was given by Dr. Matthias Fonger, Managing Director and First General Counsel of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce – Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Bremen and Bremerhaven as well as Mr. Carl Kau, Managing Partner of IPONTIX CORPORATE FINANCE and members of the Friends of the HWWI – Bremen Branch e. V.

As a guest speaker, we were able to win an excellent scientist, Prof. Dr. Sarah Necker, professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and head of the Ludwig Erhard ifo Research Center for Social Market Economy and Institutional Economics in Fürth. In her lecture, she analysed the future of the social market economy and pointed out many incentive problems in the current design of our economic system. The subsequent discussion showed how much the topic occupies the participants in the current economic situation.

We would like to thank all participants, the speaker, Prof. Necker, as well as all those who contributed to the success of this event. We are looking forward to further exciting discussions and insights at upcoming events of the HWWI – Niederlassung Bremen e.V.
