About HWWI
The HWWI is committed to evidence-based economic policy. Evidence-based research requires economic policy recommendations not to be formulated based on beliefs, but rather based on appropriately collected data. Modern statistical-econometric methods from the areas of causal analysis, time series analysis and spatial econometrics are primarily used.
Institute Management
Supporting the Institute
The HWWI is a non-profit enterprise and does not receive government funding. The public goods provided by the HWWI are offered free of charge. The basic research and methodological training of the staff, which are essential for the quality of the work, the public presentation of the research results and the reliable staff expertise are mainly financed by donations. The HWWI receives these donations from companies and corporations in northern Germany – and from many friends and supporters.
There are various ways to support the HWWI in its work.
