Method Center
Modern economics is characterized by a strongly methodical approach. The methodological toolbox includes model theory, empirical and experimental methods. The Methods Center at the HWWI deals with these methods, conducts its own research and supports other research teams with methodological advice.
One focus of the Methodology Center’s work is the supervision of the Institute’s Computational General Equlibrium (CGE) model. This model can be used to estimate the effects of economic shocks on important economic variables such as economic growth, employment and inflation.
