Promote in Hamburg

The Society of Friends and Supporters of the HWWI (GdFF for short) e.V. is a non-profit association that pursues the exclusive goal of “supporting the HWWI in every way in carrying out its tasks and expanding and deepening the relationships between economic research and economic practice.” (§ 2 of the statutes).

The association emerged in 2005 from the support association of the HWWA (the predecessor institute of the HWWI). It was originally founded in 1949. The association’s goal of promoting the HWWI is pursued through membership fees and donations. Members of the association are companies, institutions and individuals. The association’s board is elected every 3 years by the general meeting.

Supporting the Institute

The HWWI is a non-profit enterprise and does not receive government funding. The public goods provided by the HWWI are offered free of charge. The basic research and methodological training of the staff, which are essential for the quality of the work, the public presentation of the research results and the reliable staff expertise are mainly financed by donations. The HWWI receives these donations from companies and corporations in northern Germany – and from many friends and supporters.

There are various ways to support the HWWI in its work.
