HWWI - Summer Reception 2026
Keynote:
Die Zapfsäule als Krisenbarometer
Prof. Dr. Michael Berlemann
HWWI
| Hotel Grand Elysée Hamburg | 18:00 - 22:00 o'clock |
On September 1st, we came together in the stylish ambience of the Grand Elysée Hamburg to celebrate our almost traditional HWWI summer party. With delicacies from the grill and refreshing drinks, we enjoyed the enriching exchange with our friends, sponsors, partners and companions from science, politics, business and society.
After the welcome by our Managing Director Dr. Dirck Süß and Dr. Bernd-Georg Spieß, board member of the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the HWWI, our Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Michael Berlemann addressed a highly topical topic. Under the title “The Petrol Pump as a Crisis Barometer”, he offered a well-founded, data-based analysis of the development of fuel prices and highlighted influencing factors such as the geopolitical tensions on the Strait of Hormuz, the 12 o’clock rule at petrol stations, the government’s fuel discount and logistical challenges due to low water. With his stimulating closing words, Senator Dr. Andreas Dressel, President of the Ministry of Finance and Districts, rounded off the official part of the evening.
Our special thanks for supporting this successful event go to Eugen Block Holding GmbH and the Society of Friends and Sponsors e.V.
