Professional Career

Sven Beck is a research associate at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) and Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg.

He initially studied international relations at the University of St. Gallen. During his master’s studies at Imperial College London (M.Sc. in Economics & Strategy for Business) and Maastricht University (M.Sc. in Economic and Financial Research), he focused on political economy and econometrics.

He previously gained practical experience in the private sector at the rating agency Moody’s in the area of corporate credit ratings.
