Was bestimmt die Zukunft der Städte?

Mark-Oliver Teuber, Jan Wedemeier (2013),
Wirtschaftsdienst 93(11), 796-798.

Successful cities are characterized by attractive framework and location conditions that attract businesses and people. Their success also depends on how the economic structural shift toward knowledge-intensive service sectors and research-intensive industries can be achieved. Knowledge-intensive sectors such as engineering firms, the healthcare industry, games and edutainment development companies, media, and the cultural sector, as well as research-intensive industries like aircraft manufacturing and materials research, have shaped recent developments and are essential drivers of urban development in the 21st century.
