The 11th Capital Market Conference entitled “Inflation, interest rate reversal and geopolitical tensions: What’s next for the capital markets?” took place on October 6, 2023 at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Volker Wieland, Endowed Professor of Monetary Economics and Managing Director of the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) at Goethe University Frankfurt, gave an excellent keynote speech.
The following three short presentations dealt with the business models of banks and insurance companies in the face of financial policy changes and the tightened monetary policy of central banks.
The event was organized by the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI), the head office of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein, Finanzplatz Hamburg e. V. and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
