Dr. Daniela Wenzel
Professional Career
Daniela Wenzel has been Deputy Head of the “Business Cycles and Growth” research department at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) since September 2024. She is employed as a research associate at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg and an associate member at the HWWI.
Daniela Wenzel studied economics at the University of Passau and the Technical University of Chemnitz. She then completed her doctorate at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Berlemann, analyzing the economic effects of natural disasters and meteorological events.
Prior to joining HWWI she has working experience in the business startup sector.
