Professional Career

Anja Behrendt has been a Senior Economist at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) since March 2022.

She completed her studies in physical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden and graduated with a degree in engineering. She studied economics and political science at the University of Hagen and obtained the academic degree Magister Artium. She then completed her doctorate in economics at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg.

She worked as a research assistant as well as a project manager. As a lecturer, she has held various teaching positions at private and public universities.
