Mountadapt
MOUNTADAPT is an EU climate adaptation project aimed at strengthening the resilience of health systems in response to climate change. The project brings together regional and local institutions across Europe to co-develop and implement innovative climate adaptation solutions. These solutions will be tested in diverse environments, such as the Alpine mountains and the Pyrenees, ensuring their effectiveness in different contexts.
MOUNTADAPT seeks to enhance health systems’ preparedness for climate-related emergencies through improved monitoring tools, emergency management strategies, and training programs for healthcare professionals.
The HWWI contributes to the project by analysing the relationship between climate change and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This includes conducting a systematic literature review and empirically evaluating climate and health data, providing critical insights into how climate change affects long-term health outcomes.
