Determinanten der innerdeutschen Standortwahl von Unternehmen. Ergebnisse einer empirischen Analyse

Michael Berlemann, Jane Tilgner (2007),
ifo Dresden berichtet 14(3), 14-22.

Location decisions made by companies are particularly important because of their importance for regional employment development. A region can only survive in the location competition if it offers attractive location conditions for companies. In the context of this article, the results of an empirical analysis of the determinants of location choice within Germany are presented and discussed. For this purpose, the empirical research approach is first presented. The influencing factors that may be relevant to location decisions within Germany are then discussed and it is shown which data is available to measure the regional expression of these factors. Finally, the estimation results are presented and discussed.
